Just looking on the Autotrader, amazes me how some cars can still be such high prices after all this time, high mileage, LHD, 180 bhp TT's with crap wheels on still go for ten grand.
Mini's, even the earliest Mini 'One' with 50k plus is still asking for over 8 grand, dont understand it, they are only about 10 grand new !
I know its about supply and demand but I cant understand why somebody wouldnt get the extra couple of grand to buy a new Mini when somebodys three year old one only saves two grand.

'cos their budget stretching re-mortgage got them a conservatory, patio, two weeks in Benidorm and only £8k cash left I suppose

A car is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it. So if people are happy to pay £8k for an early mini one with 50k on it then that is what it is worth.

Oh, I agree. I certainly wouldn't pay that sort of money for one. Problem is that there are many that will.
Well it would be a problem if I was considering buying one, which I'm not, so it isn't

Even Mini owners cant explain it, would have to have a lot of kit (more than you could fit in a Mini) to make it worth paying new for a used car.
BMW got it spot on with that car, Mini owners do seem to be very self concious and will get all upset if another Mini goes past and it has some extra plastic bits tacked on, as they know the owner has paid a fortune for the said plastic bits.
