Bedford Rascal !!!! 55mph...... in a 30 !!! I didn't see the signs - honest......
I actually asked for written proof that I was speeding - 'cos nobody would beleive me! They kindly obliged by putting three points on my nice clean licence!!
That the copper was joking when he jumped out infront of me - saying "you were speeding sonny..."
there's me "no-way - I'm 5mph under the limit - this thing won't go any faster!"
ho ho ho

... oh yeah, and "half full" on my old mini.....
... for those that don't know, the fuel gauge is at the bottom of a large round speedo dial located in the centre of the dash board. I got the needle all the way round, past 95 mph on the clocks, right the way round to "half full".... about 115mph on the clocks (of course the inaccuracy at that level of the dial is huge, so I was probaly doing about 11mph !! Lol
this is a great topic - there's gonna be some funnies out there to tell I'm sure!

Mini clubman 1100 again off the clock on the M1 trying to keep up with three girls in Peugeot 205. Had 2 mates in the car and a full terms worth of clothes, books etc for uni..
Rolled the car two weeks later due to a mixture of over zealous cornering and very, very bad brakes.
If I had had to stop on the M1 I dread to think what would have happened.

118 indicated nova 1.2 j reg. Only 4 speed and went from like 50-118 in 4th. Never know what revs it was doing as didnt have a meter.
Weird thing was it sounded like a bag of nails til about 85 and then it sounded fine lol.
Brakes were shocking - overshot a cross junction once at uni with 3 passengers (the extra weight made a big diff in that car).
Simon.

Probably the crappiest for me was;
A few years ago I drove a shepra diesel (non turbo) mini bus. This thing was absolute $hite. When loaded up it would struggle to 40mph on the motorway uphill! I was getting overtaken by lorries uphill ffs!
So when it cam to downhill sections I really went for it to try and get some speed. It got to about 100/110mph.
When we stopped at the services some of the passengers quietly asked if I could slow down as they were scared they were gonna die lol! To which agreed as I was $hitting me kegs as well.
P.S. All non turbo sherpa vans should have destruction orders made against them.

I've had 125 on the speedo in a Civic Esi... but my crowning glory was achieving an indicated 113 in a 1ltr polo. I always find courtesy cars have that little bit extra
