Suprised by the lack of performance of the CTR.
I know their are a lot of variables, but it was a fair (and safe) run up the box from 2nd and I could reel the CTR in without a problem (STi type UK non PPP).
Was it sick ?, I could not pull any distance on a 350Z on the same road last week.

Nope that sounds reasonable (260 bhp 4wd v 197 fwd). Prior to a few tweeks to my CTR, my wife in her (Ver7 STI) would allways leave me for dead from a standing start) Not quite so bad once rolling, especially at the top end. I think the CTR aquited itself well. Now of course, the shoe is on the other foot and she has to play catchup . So she is saving for PPP

Hardly a fair comparison really is it? I think against a standard uk wrx, the CTR would give a fair account of it self especially from a rolling start. See if this link works what do think a sti would do against this?

Ah that is very similar spec to my car. It is Cragen from the CTR forum. He is running a Jackson racing Supercharger and 8psi of boost (or race kit). I am only running 4.5 psi and still pushing 280ish at wheels, so he is nigh on 300 bhp.
I was tempted to go for the boost upgrade myself, but decided as it is I have good balance of traction, the Trany can cope easy. With the boost upgrade you need to think about cluch, and lsd really. Besides even with low boost I am quicker than the missus in her standard STI. Well cant have her quicker than me can I .
I will say that if it is raining out we do fight over the keys to the Scooby

Hmm - bet that is nice to drive

Actually it is very grippy. The CTR has an excellent chassis only spoilt by poor steering feedback (NOT lack of grip) that can be easily sorted by a decent geometry set up. Mine has this and for £100 has transformed the steering feel and turn in. Even with 252 bhp at the hubs it can keep up through the twistys with the STI (in the dry ). I may look at getting an LSD at some point. Though atm it seems unnescessary. I would also ad that unlike a turbo conversion there is zero lag and the power is very progressive. Makes balancing the car a dodle.
