New 5 series ride quality
Anyone got one? One of the best things about the E39 for me was the ride, but new model's is being slated in the press. Is it really that bad?

No - it's fine, although depends what you're used to. I drove one for a weekend a few weeks back. 530d with sports pack on. 18" wheels and run-flats (as per usual for all new beemers these days). Coming from an STI it was smooth as a baby!
What do you drive now? An E39? You could always change the tyres, but I really don't think the press fixation with run-flats is warranted.
They do have options of dynamic drive and adaptive steering I think. The one I drove didn't have this and it was superb. Not sure if either affect the ride, but the handling is, according to some, made worse...although that might just be because they haven't got used to it.
....best thing, get an extended test drive.
