Ford Capri - Ebay (again)
I'm now getting addicted to ebay and building up a portfolio of old cars
I bought a 1977 Merc 250 yesterday and she's a beauty. I bought her to sell on for a profit.
I bought a 1981 2.0GLS Capri today - went all the way from London to Devon for it and had to suffer the train.
Got there thinking it's going to be a heap of **** and guess what? It's almost fooking mint!
64k on the clock and genuine as it got a SH to 48k and all the old MOTs and a huge file of bills.
Start the thing up and it bursts into life straight away. Drives like a dream. How slow are these though?? Kin 'ell, I had to rag the **** off it to get it to do anything LOL. Sits at 80 nice though.
T&T til late Jan '06 and all for £300. No rust, new cam belt and clutch and all new tyres make this a bargain.

FP -- I believe the Samaritans can help .... it's getting serious if you're starting to buy Dagenham Dustbins
Take out a small ad in one of the Classic Ford mags and you'll get a nice return on your stake, I reckon

That is marvellous... have you got a hangar for all those classics?!
I'm just jealous - soft spot for 70s cars. And yes, 1981 was the 70s really, especially in Capri time.

She's going on ebay tonight - but properly advertised. It's a free listing day for cars too

I have no restrictions on parking where I live so it's cool. I only keep them a couple of weeks, usually then sell them on.
It goes as good (or bad) as it looks.

3 litre GXL
MAV i had a 3 litre GXL which was the top of the range one at the time just before they stuck a hatchback on them it was one of the last off the line before they changed it i loved that car wish i still had it ..i was told a few years ago that it was worth a fortune and did i still have it by some blokes on a capri club stand at a country show, went like stink and only had small badges on the wings that gave the game away

It was a mark 1 3.0 that got me into cars ... my mates dad had one, I remember being in it when he planted his foot up a long hill ... the noise and that feeling in your gut from the grunt ... only 140bhp but it felt bloody quick

Looks like a good solid car FP. Go find some empty, wet roundabouts before you part with it.

Blimey Olly, them pictures must be old, in any current ones she would have at least a foot of dust on her
