Trackday Video: CSL @ Oulton 1m59s
This one's not too bad (better than the last one that was posted anyway!), but it's just one lap.
Needed to back-off over Hill Top to let a faster Radical get by safely, and ran just a bit too deep into Lodge (final corner), but still sub 2mins.
Sorry it's 46Mb as I wanted to keep some quality in it, especially the sound.
It's an AVI file using the XVid Codec.
There were a few people interested in a more 'committed' lap when the last one was posted, so hope you like
Removed now as I need my webspace back!

Only needed to watch the first 40 secs to see that you were turning in far too early and missing the apex's..... Go back and try again
Got to love the sound of the car though.......

BTW I prefer the central line into Cascades, versus the right-hand-side approach, as there's less camber and it doesn't appear any slower.

Thanks for sharing, the car sounds the business!
You made a couple of strange gear changes though, (0:52, 1:05 and 1:26 secs) you changed up a gear before you had even properly exited the corner, I would suggest using a gear higher and see how that feels.
Using a lower gear sounds fast, feels fast, but in most cases is slower.

0:52 - changing from 2nd -> 3rd on the red-line (8500)
1:05 - same as above
1:26 - same
I've tried using 3rd through those corners and there doesn't seem to be any benefit over the lap.

Yeah, I reckon you could go faster, give me a passenger ride and I will give you all the pointers you need....
Those Radical things are quick to make you look like you were pedalling it, jesus, the CSL is a hell of a quick car by any stretch.

I'm only a regular trackday enthusiast, and despite doing over 1500 laps of the place it's still handy to get pointers from more talented people. But having done so many I have had the opportunity to try (and data log) many different approaches to various sections of the circuit and actually see (in data) the differences.
As it turns out I may not drive Oulton again.. may be giving trackdays up for the time being. So that one may be the last one ever! haha
I will stick to visiting Nurburg though as it's a totally different experience (the place, the people, the food - fab).

data log is a bit technical for me, I prefer a good old stop watch or timing from datum points on video.
I will take the ''more talented people'' comment in the tongue in cheek manner im sure its meant

Silly question but do either of you CSL guys know the owner of HV54 xxx he is the one armed CSL owner who seems to be there honing his way around evertime we go. Fair play to the guy considering his disability. A nice guy he is too.
