Residual disasters - why do people do it ??
There is a bloke who works next door to where i do. He is the MD of the company but loves his BIG beemers.........
So he bought a S or T reg (can't quite remember) 750il beemer (new) to replace his older 750il. So i was shocked when i saw his latest car today - an 05 reg 760 !!!
it is beyond me why he has to have that model - maybe it is a top of the range requirement he has - but spending £80000+ on a car that he can sell for £15000 in 5 years is not my idea of a 'wise' buy.
How do these people stay in business !?!?

Depends how well the business does, if he makes £100k a week then it isnt much, and besides no car is an investment its there to be enjoyed, so there is never a 'wise' purchase when it comes to cars really.

I always remember a guys comment on here when someone slated him about a big money spend that the other guy thought ridiculous ....... ''because I can'' was his reply. Nothing you can say to that I dont think.

Personnaly, I think he might just like the car. What's wrong with that?? If he doesn't mind losing all that money, then that's his business how he spends it, surely.
I'm sure that people think buying s Impreza is a bad buy, cos they don't exactly hold there value all that well. If that's what you want to spend your money on, then that's what you will spend it on. Personnaly I think spending thousands of pounds extra on cars, tuning/styling them up is a complete waste of money, but I wouldn't have a go at someone who did.
Was on the news a few years ago, a guy spent £30k on ICE, new seats with TV's, playstation etc, on a £30k Audi S3. ???????????????? But If that's what he wants.

No doubt he pays a shed load of company car tax, but then from the sounds of it he can afford that.
