ESCORT COSSY HOW DO YOU?
What sort of power is needed in an escort cossy, to make it on par with an STI?
The reason i want to know is that although they look good, they also look heavy and bulky. I know one could'nt live with a scoob in the twistys, but what about straight line grunt? Also do they really blow up and rot to death.

Stage 3 conversion (which doesn't cost an arm and a leg for 330bhp) on a big turbo version will be faster than a standard STI. They aren't heavy or bulky and are far more positive on handling with right suspension set up than a scoob.
Whatever gave you that idea of course a sorted Cos will keep up with a scoob in the twisties... Straight line grunt is
No!

Why would I lie? I am just answering your questions truthfully. I have owned one for 5 years, would I have kept it so long if it wasn't a good car? Mine isn't even a Stage 3, it's a Stage 4 so didn't even use that as comparision.
Or were you expecting answers from Scoob owners?

to be honest I see no reason why an escort cossie cant be equal in the twisties to an STi, the scoob aint even THAT good round the twisties... theres many a cars that would keep up

The only thing that puts me off an Escort is the dash looks really dated. Same with the Intergrale EVO2 - quite a fancied car for me but the dash looks pants - nice seats though.

well my input to begin with was more than reasonable. I stated that the escort shouldnt have a problem keeping up with a scoob in the twisties... would you like to explain what you found amusing in my post? your initial post is the amusing 1

For a triple mint one, unmolested and maybe to concours standard, your probably still looking at 18-20k. I saw one just like it a few months ago at Junction 28. Gave it some serious thought. I absolutely love the escort cossie. If I was my age now when they came out new I would deffo have one. The reason I didn't get that one at J28? well, they are getting on a bit now, and i prefer buying a car with 3 years warranty. Plus the insurance is still stupidly high, and if I wanted to mod it to make it faster/handle better then it would have cost too much to insure. Still think they look the business though. Far better than a scoob or Evo. Plus I got a STi with free PPP.
