Porsche Cayenne S - Wow!
Has a quick tussle with one earlier today - absoutely amazing both in acceleration and handling for something so large.
It was cornering looking like it was going 30mph (we were, er, slightly faster), and although I was keeping up (standard 05 WRX) it was a very close thing.
They must be a blast to drive!

And the Turbo version is even better than the S.
The air suspension and 6 speed tiptronic auto are absolutely amazing, both on-road and off.

A few weeks back I was on my way home with a trailer on the back of the car but still doing 50-60mph.
My mirrors had been full of a VW Touarag for a few corners, first straight we got to he pulled out to overtake.
I thought "What an idiot" as the straight wasn't that long, but it was me who was wrong, the thing came by me like a rocket. I've never seen anything so big accelerate so quickly.
Badge on the back said V10 TDi so would have been the 5.0 litre Deisel.
Had a flick round the net about them afterwards and remaps can give 400bhp and 750lbft.
Cheers

IIRC Porsche have recently introduced a 'remap' for the Turbo, up to 500bhp. Apparently, there were complaints that the standard model wasn't quite potent enough....
Wasn't it Evo mag that took the Cayenne Turbo around their Bedford Autodrome test route, and its time matched an M3.....

And there he is, in the lap of leather-lined luxury. Auto box, zoned climate, loads of space, all the toys, and an engine note to die for.
The Cayenne is one of the most amazing vehicles I've ever driven. Just completely incongruous - an off roader that performs like a... Well, like a proper Porsche....

I have raced both - the first was an S in my E30 M3 - and going up hill ragging the **** off my M3 i crept past the guy - i was truly gob smacked........
I was then unlucky enough to come across a real foot baller type in sports wear in his 20's driving a turbo - but i was in my T5 - so i let the guy past [with a roar] and i pulled out behind him.
I managed to match his performance midrange to quite a high top end - there was an exchange of nods and thumbs and we went in seperate directions.
Once again - gob smacked.........
If you are too fat to own a 911 it really is a nice alternative

Then you need to try my personal favourite (and current weapon of choice after all those other boring performance cars in my past - Scoobies, M3s, M5s, 911s), a BMW X5 4.8is - whips the Cayenne S's *** (see Tiff Needell on Fifth Gear). 360bhp V8...........feel the noise...........and suck up those exhausts.
Bye bye
