Default Range Rover Water Leak

I have a mystery water leak on my classic 1995 3.9 V8 Range Rover
after some journeys it chucks out 2-3 litres of water from engine
Have had radiator pressure tested all OK

temp guage unmoved and OK

Stop for LPG return to car and 2-3 litres of water running across the forecourt!!!!

Definately not head gasket

Leak seems to be coming from area behind the distributer
where top rad hose goes into the head
But not a weep or drip
its dry for a time then 2-3 litres on the floor in seconds
Has once caused engine to cut out I assume it flooded the distributer!!!

Any Ideas

Thanks

Pete

Why not the head gasket? - seems a likely contender. you do not always get oil in the water. Head gasket going can b e a symptom of another problem such as a blocked rad.

Pressure test by someone who knows what they are doing is worth it, should be around £ 15.00

I would take it to a rad specialist and get them to pressure test the system.

Otherwise;
leaky core plug?
heater matrix (another rad)
dodgly joint on the cooling system

Had to get rid of the wife's 3.9 V8 classic, thought it was the head gasket, turned out to be one of the cylinder linings had gone porous might be worth checking to see if the top of the piston is getting scrubbed nice and clean

Wonder weld'd and then traded it in

Cheers

Jim
