Default 106 GTi indicator relay problem ?

Just about to pick up a 106GTi today absolutely mint car and the only problem on the whole car seems to be a very very sensitive Indicator Relay/Stalk. It seems to make the indicator ticking noise as though your indicating even when your not, It seems very random when it chooses to go off, so was wondering if anyone knew how easy this is to sort and if It was common etc

Thanks

Could be the relay, stalk or sometimes a bad/worn connection in the hazard switch will cause this..

My 306 did the same thing occasionally, though it hasnt done it for some time now, i just removed and reseated the relays which were under the dash, fixed the problem since.

g/fs 106 GTI does this on rare occasions, just turn the music up.

Tis a common problem, although not a major one.

pukka little car

my old 106 GTI seemed to suffer from the same intermittent problem

you've made a good choice though - I have a well sorted Impreza right now but STILL miss the natural handling of that little Pug ........

Quick question, as a quick solution cant the thing that actually makes the ticking noise just be stopped/disconnected or something ?

No, its the thingy which makes your indicators and hazards go on and off. I think they'd stop working altogether if you removed it.
