Default Cheapest insurance

I have insurance policy with lots of NCB which I wont be using for a while (company car reasons) but I want to continue the policy. So for the next year I need to insure a really really cheap car. The cheapest so far is a Ford Fiesta 1.0. Is there anything out there cheaper.

The Fiesta is in group 4, so what car is group 1-3 ?

I instantly thought of Fiat Pandas as well. Stick one of those on third party and they'll almost be paying you to insure it!

Can you use your NCD on a classic or does it have to be something you will actually use?

My Dad pays c.£60 a year to insure A 60's VW Beetle if that any use.

Other than that, 1.0 Corsa's, Saxo's etc...

I am pretty sure that no claims bonus can be kept up to 2 years as long as you get documents as proof from Insurance Company.
I did this a few years ago on a Motorbike.
Call your company.
Hope this helps

Yep, if you've only just got your company car, there is no need to insure a mythical motor straight away. I carried direct line NCD for 3 years before reusing it after a crash on another policy.

Alternatively, take on a cheap policy, pay for the year up front then cancel after a few weeks. They will issue you the NCD for the date it was cancelled, therefore no need to pay for full year - just do this every couple of years just before the deadline for using your NCD.

It is legit, I used to sell car insurance and people shafted me by doing this all the time.
