On my old MGB V8 it was Autoglym super resin .... the car was painted in cellulose and the Autoglym kept it looking good for months at a time, and was quick & easy to apply.

The engine heat used to make the bonnet paint "bloom" but it always polished out.

I tried the Autoglym "extra gloss protection" on top but IMHO it wasn't worth the extra time & effort to apply it, it didn't make it any shinier or longer-lasting.

Show car, daily driver, garage queen, kept outside? Check out http://www.autopia.org and be prepared to do a lot of reading

Similar to Doc above, I've applied AutoGlym Super Resin, let it haze, applied Extra Gloss on top of the haze then wiped off after a couple of hours. Saves time whilst still giving good results.

I was joking I have a pot of their cheapest wax and for a carnauba have found it offers excellent durability together with a warm glow (and so it should for the price), however I am skeptical of some of the marketing surrounding their products.

The claims of "special" formulations for Japaneze and Italian paints, plus supposed levels of carnauba content by volume leave me reminded of people who pay stupid amounts for cryogenically frozen or directional hi-fi audio interconnects.

The waxes are blended to the different types of paint used by different car manufacturers to compliment the oils in them .For example the Zuffenhausen wax for Porsche cars is blended for Glasurit paint, used on all models etc.

Also the amount of Carnauba quoted for each wax is the amount in the wax. You just cant market something and say it has X % .This is regulated in Switzerland and around the world. I would suggest that if you are in any doubt about the quality of the Swissol products that you ring up the factory in Switzerland. The number is 0041 840 850 850 or email sales@swissol.com

You must agree that the "by volume" label is ambiguous at best though... are they talking carnauba sap or wax? It surely can't be a pure wax figure as carnauba wax is rock hard - you'd never be able to work with it if the product contained the percentages they mention!

My problem isn't with the product's results, it's with the marketing of the product and the zealotry which sometimes surrounds it.

Autoglym is very good but the ones you get in Halfords (super resin polish) isnt the best.

I know the bloke that has the franchise in Harrogate and I get a gallon of Superglym 2 and its the dogs danglies.....you can also get a massive range that only the trade see but if you have chance of seeing one of the franchises then its worth it. 8 quid for 750ml at halfords or 18 quid for a gallon.....everything down to bumpercare and window polish at brilliant prices.

For the extra special polish (I use on my M3) is Zymol.....alot of BMW owners swear by it

I use Autoglym and Meguires - both exellent, IMO the AG looks better on non metalic paints and the Meg better on metallic.
