Seat Ibiza TDi's
Does anyone know the difference between the 130 Sport TDi and the FR TDi?
Also, apart from the engine, what does the Cupra TDi have that's different?

Sport and FR are the same, just that Sport was used on the earlier versions, when they also launched the Cupra, they renamed the Sport as FR.
Cupra has a lot of stuff different, 30hp more, wheels, suspension, interior trim, and the engine is very different, forged pistons, uprated turbo and intercooler etc etc

Modified injectors, stronger pistons, conrods and gudgeon pins, larger turbo, larger intercooler, more boost. Its a very different unit to the 130hp. The Cupra unit is based on the Golf 150 TDI, and is not just a tuned 130 unit.

Also very different to drive, we had a Sport and now have a Cupra, the Sport has softer suspension, lots of body movement and roll and the brakes are not up to the job, maybe the FR revisions sorted some of this - not sure. I think the Sport is/was also available in 5 door. Very easy to drive and 55mpg easy to achieve, a very cheap car to run. Some rate the Sokda Fab VRs slightly higher essentially the same car.
The Cupra is a very differnt beast, hard suspension, the engine needs more revs and sounds much more harsh. Its quick in a straight line and the 17" wheels offer more grip. Its a genuine diesel hot hatch but if its diesel economy and reasonable performance you're after the Sport/FR is a better overall package and probably holds its money better too.

Just bought the wife a Sport TDi 100BHP. Nice little motor. 16"s and a quite firm suspension setup. Handles well, interior very dark, seats very comfy on a long run. Good torque, bags of uumph.
Just been to Southern Germany, Zugspitz, camping. 2000 + miles round trip, did 67 MPG, this included some 90-100 mph runs too.
