Default audi s4 biturbo 2.7

right what i do know is they have the same engine as a rs4, but 265bhp 400nm torque, nice inside well built
but what are they like to drive,

and what sort of increase would a FULL exhaust decats and a remap give, what would this do to the performance, any owners on here saw a clip of a normal s4 with a straight through exhaust sounds absolutely superb, maybe better than my straight through boxer

Try RS246.COM

The RS4 has K04 rather than K03 turbo, bigger intercoolers, improved cylinder heads and more.

Your remap and exhaust will probably do 320 BHP or so.

I've driven an RS4 hard down roads I know, I was really looking forward to the drive as it was a serious next car contender, either that or a K04 S4. It was a nice comfortable car with a very nice engine. The lack of body control meant I had to back off as the body movements became wilder and it was becoming unpredictable as it couldn't keep tyre contact. The engine is heavy and hung out over the front axle and you could tell from how it drove. I found the limits of the car before I ran out of bottle. I prefer it to be the other way around.

Like most V6s, I liked it. Not as smooth as a BMW six though. But it had torque from the turbos that the BMW sixes just don't.

I would say yes it is as exciting as an unmodified UK Impreza Turbo or WRX, but not STI/P1/modded. Go and try one.

3257....the rolling road graph shows it's above 320lbft from 2100 to 5600. The car is running K04 turbos.

drove one must say wasnt all that impressed with the performance, i feel that my uk scoob is more competent, nimble and engaging, though the s4 has a real solid drive and nice level of comfort, i would prefer my scoob for low/mid range performance: i.e for instant easy fun.

A guy on rs246.com with a similar spec car has recorded 4.09 0-60 time at the Trax show at Silverstone.

There has been many threads on Scoobynet about the B5 S4 (do a search) and many people have expressed the view that they are unconnected/bland/unsteering etc etc...which is fine. There are a number of things you can do to reduce this impression (suspension/quick shift/brakes/alignment etc) and quite a few of the cars that I tried that where for sale have had either faulty MAFs or split Throttle Body Boot (TBB) which are both common issues with the S4 and will reduce performance considerable.

I think my car is great every time it pushes my head back into the headrest when I nail the throttle in 3rd and the rest of the world disappears backwards (with very few exceptions). The exhaust on the my car is a complete stainless steel Miltek which (I think !) sounds great.....this includes downpipes/Cats etc. There is a dual pipe system which is even louder.

More revs like this:
http://www.mrcdoug.plus.com/Trax%202005/doug%204_31.WMV

The S4 has good torque at 3500 - that is why it launches it at that. It is also his every day car so he is not too keen on abusing his clutch. The 6 speed box is notorious for having a slow change.

(only here because I am looking to see were my videos are getting linked from)
