Default Corolla Levin BZR or Starlet Turbo?!

Any thoughts on these? Thinking of trying these as a daily driver but not sure if they're both insurable or easy to get parts for...

The Levin especially!

Both cars are around the '96 M.Y.

my first car was a Toyota Levin BZR AE111 P reg... which i brought for 1900GBP off a guy who dont even know what it is....
they have 2 versions one is silver top 160bhp and the other one is black top engine 175bhp + 6speed manual...

they are very good cars and its 100% faster than eany civic VTIs...for normal service parts they are the same as the UK corolla G6R AE111, as for engine parts they have to be ordered from jap.. or you can contact www.fensport.co.uk

hope this helps

very incorrect man, the black tops are 165bhp and are NOT faster than 1600vtec civics, and nowhere near a civic type r 1.6vtec, nice car though, but i would prob chose a nice modded white levin, starlets are great too, in standard form the starlet will be quicker

Just look at the success Honda had in the 90's with those group A Civic SiR's, then u'll know inherently they're the quicker car. They conquered all in the 1600cc class right through the decade from the late 80's. Even up to this day, EG & EK Civics are still the choice in the Asian motorsport circle.

Well thanks to you all for the info, very interesting. But the Starlet (which was mint) had a leaking head gasket...and the Levin - well, I just couldn't get a quote for it. Seemed like no-one wanted to know, especially as it was quite highly modded too!

So I just settled for a nicely modded Celica GT (st202). I looked at a few GT-Fours, but it seems like a good, honest straight one is very hard to find...

How about some class in a white Toyota Corolla Trueno AE86? Pure class.

Yeah, great classic as the Hachi is, they're very thin on the ground and I know that getting parts for them can be a bit of a 'mare.

I think an RS13 would've been a better bet but according to a well known insurer, turbo RWD cars (especially Nissans) are top of the Claim list. Hence the premiums are ridiculously high (for me) - and thats just for "standard" cars....
