Nowt worse than the Renault Clios and their plastic front wings (always shades of silver or blue as well - worst colours for matching )

Personally had the same issue with Nissan Primaera trim moulding that came pre painted from the factory with appalling metallic pigment variation across the very same piece of trim (caused by the paint sprayed in differnt directions on the same section).

Not as bad as teh Mk5 Escorts...the base paint was so thin you could see the primer on the roof on mine (even though was a thick coat laquer on top of it) - engine bay had more base paint!

I owned a new ford at the same time as owning a new my98 impreza turbo.
Comparisons between the two dealers' after care service can be summarised thus:

Ford:
Typically, after a service, would be informed that not all parts were in stock and would have to return to get work completed (200 mile round trip).

Unhelpful with fixing problems with the car - we had an electrical problem which took ages to resolve.

Difficult (if not impossible) to speak to service manager about any difficulties.

Subaru:
Never once was dispached post-service having only had half a service done.

When the engine developed piston slap new engine was installed with zero hassle.

Service manager always available but rarely needed!

In fact - like chalk and cheese and would never have another ford.

I have a 2000 Focus and the local Ford garage are superb. They phone me up a few weeks before the next service and/or MOT is due, they book it in and on the day come and pick the car up.

All work/costs are discussed beforehand and their prices are good for everything. They're even hasslin me to test the new ST which I will be doing in January.

Great car, and 2 great dealers so far (supplying and local), cant fault them.

On topic, those pics in that thread are worrying.
