My new drift car
Picked this baby up yesterday from elgin, volvo 360 2.0 66,000 miles. Only done a few practice drifts which saw the passenger side mirror broken and the wing bent.
Lets hear the modification ideas then to make it rally style!!
On the move action shot

Col its not going to be for anything like that, private road stuff. Paul its 105bhp which i thought wouldn't be enough but its more than happy to get very sideways, the blowing exhaust adds that rally car feel.

I got lent one of these when I dropped my T5 off at a specialist for a service, I rewarded their genrosity of lending me an untaxed, un MOT'd car by bouncing it off kerbs.
Spun a GLT version on the Bredbury roundabout, a company hack, tough as old boots and just as smelly.

kenny you wont beable to compete in a drift competition, once those 175's break away it'll slide for ages. Ill let you drive it, you wont believe the suspension crazy soft dampers must be away.

I had a Volvo 340 DL (1.4) when I was a student in Manchester! No one is going to nick it!
Anyway, you'll find that the 1.4 and 1.7 units are from Renault! The 1.7 unit is the same as the R5 GTX. The 1.4 R5 GTT engine should drop straight in, using the same mounts I have that on good authority from a guy who use to mod R5s!

Couldn't the R5 GTT 1.4 turbo unit make 160-180bhp relatively easily??
Then again the 440/460/480 Turbo had the 1.7 Renault engine (R5 GTX) but with a turbo. I think they were 120bhp (or thereabouts) as standard, but can take a T25/T3 turbo making over 250bhp with various modifications (IIRC from back in the day in an old M** P****)
Loads of old 440/460/460 Turbos being sold and broken on ebay!

dead right, thought you were mad when you said about the volvo but can see the attraction; now I know you're stark raving bonkers and I want one too! Only one 360 on autotrader site in the whole country, and none on ebay at all!
you coming down to the drift day at Oulton on the 17th? here's our BMW on the last day out

forgot to add, my mate snaaped a drive shaft on his sierra last time (might be because I rammed him on the start line though....) and all the capris are massively snatchy with no lsd, although the 2.8 isn't so bad with the lsd.
