Quick(ish) diesel

Quick(ish) diesel
Evening all,
I have a budget between 15>16k for a new car, my requirements are:-
1.Sub 10 seconds 0-62
2.Reliable
3.Not bothered about “badge”
4.Space not too much of an issue, just me and the misses
5.Good handling
6.If not new, low mile secondhand, as I will be keeping it a while.
Any thoughts and suggestions?
Cheers
Clive.

Not sure when its out but the new Seat Leon looks nice. Old dervs were quick(ish) and based on the golf I think. The new one should still be based on the new golf and costs less. They normally do a quick derv version of the cupra R's.

I would go for a used BMW as a first choice, followed by an Ibiza Cupra R 160 TD, Fabia vRS, Golf / Bora / Leon etc.
I have the Fabia and i am very pleased, however it's handling is average, brakes are poor but goes well.
