anyone who has a peugeot 306 please read
buying myself a 306 dturbo P reg, looked at one today, really nice motor.
Clock says its done 88000 miles, although top of steering wheel is quite worn.
My last 306 dturbo N reg, had done pretty much same mileage but steering wheel was not worn.
Do they generally wear bad on some of these 306's or is the car likely to have done more miles???
Any other points to look for?
cheers in advance.

Hi mate,
My wife has just bought an X plate 306 and i must admit the steering wheel appears very shiny and its only done 21k. We know its a genuine mileage as it was her Dad's car and he owned it from new, but the steering wheel does seem to wear compared to other cars we have owned.

Does this have the leather or normal steering wheel?
The leather one does go a bit shiny, have a 2ltr 8v sedan which at 38k had a shiny one, though i also have an xtdt which has the normal steering wheel, its worn a little, probably dirty hands/sun, but check under the mat to see what the carpet is like in the drivers footwell, if the car also has old MOT's that may help you with the milage, though it wouldnt be the first one thats had something changed on it

Had a 306 TD before my scoob, that had done 105000 when i sold it and there was no wear on the seat and the stearing wheel was only a bit shiney at the top and down the right side. I think its down to peoples driving style, may be they just used the top of the wheel??? top motors anyway and very reliable even with high mileage.

i did an hpi check on it, mileage records go back to 2001 & checks out with previous mot's.
the rest of the car is fine, reckon the owner must of had sandpaper hands.

My (95k DTurbo M reg) has a fairly shine-free steering wheel.
Good reliable cars, decent to drive, cheap to run and not that difficult to get some significant extra power with a bit of DIY tuning (manual wastegate, fuel screw etc)
