Default Courtesy Cars

Just dropped the old German clutter off for some suspension work, and was given the courtesy car.

Holden HSV

Now that has put a smile on my face

Feckin' hell, I got a Diahatsu Charade 1.0 when my MY99 went in for its 2nd engine replacement?!

One of the new 5.7 V8 Holdens that Top Gear etc compared to an M5 when they came out??

Cheers,
Grant

Tee Hee.... I drove it last night. Effortless! Talk about put your foot down and it goes, no lag, straight on the power. It's a big car but felt quite nimble.

Downside is that it is more plasticky inside than my Clio!

...the petrol does not appear to last very long. I wish they'd have give me the 307 now, could have saved £60!!!!

Awesome engine and torque, crappy cheap interior.

The Porsche specialist I took my 944 to gave me his own runabout as a courtesy car. A 1987 Suzuki Alto. The 850cc 3 cylinder engine was the size of a cornflakes packet, it had a 2-speed auto transmission, the brakes appear to have been made of some special wood composite and the steering wheel was like a string of (light grey) liquorice. The acceleration was imperceptible, and the braking about the same.

Having said that, it did all that was required of it, and I even lost a tailgater by overtaking an arctic on a motorway sliproad (the alto feels about a metre wide). Of course, if the arctic driver had sneezed and moved to the right, I would have been completely pancaked. Happy Days...

You need to touch the plastic, it really is cheap. It also rattles and creaks!

It is an Omega really....just branded a Holden or HSV.

My normal car is an Astra, however the one this replaced was my 944 turbo.
