4 new tyres for it would cost you more than I paid.
Luckily, its tyres are just about new!
10 months' MOT, 140k, almost FSH including a recent major one.

I did 60 miles in it this morning and it did about 20ish to the gallon. I was using kickdown a bit and kept slipping into 3 figures (on my private road) as it's so quiet and feels slow even though it ain't
I'm only going to use it as a run about - you don't buy an old 5 litre V8 for economy LOL.

This has a few upgrades but not in the engine dept - it handles really well for such a whale sized car with its stiff suspension, and snakes nicely in the wet when you nail the loud peddle.
It's only £202 per year to insure it too - less than my 280E which is puzzling???

Foooook only knows how to remedy that?
I'm no engine virgin but this lump scares me - the sheer size of it make my *** twitch.....

Autochoke works off a vacuum diaphragm I think -- a carb specialist should be able to sort it easily, or it may respond to a squirt of carb cleaner (about a fiver from a motorbike shop -- OK, I know it's around 1% of what you paid for the car )
If you whip off the airfilter box the choke unit will be a big lump stuck on one side of the carb body. Squirt the cleaner into the venturi and through the passages, then have a good push & pull on any levers / rods you can find. WD40 the external linkages too. Might do the trick.
