I had one back in 1988. We were rallying them in GroupA at the time, and they were bloody excellent. Mine was running circa 300bhp, which was a hell of a lot in them days, especially for something so light. They have pretty good manners, and aren't as snappy as you may think with them having a short wheelbase. I had full group a suspension on mine, and a 3" straight through mild steel rally system on it- sounded ace!
I recently bought a cheap one on ebay to run on trackdays so the kids could learn, but to be honest it was full of rust, so much so that there wouldn't have been anything to weld to.
I put it back on ebay and made money on it, even though one of the rear suspension arms rusted through and failed as we were getting it off the trailer the the new buyers house.
Look out, in particular, for the front suspension turrets, the front of the rear arches and around the sunroof for signs.
Replacement parts aren't too hard to find as many are being broken for parts, but be wary of smoke on startup and listen for gearbox noises as they are very costly to deal with.
I'll see if I can find any photos.
