the wife has got a v reg 1.7 its f*cking great fun handles really well and is suprisingly fast. i can fit in the back seats and im 5.11 but wouldnt like to be there for a long journey. the boots ok but its got a high lip which lets it down other than that cant fault it parts are easy to come buy as well seeming as its based on a fiesta. buy one you wont regret it

Very easy to change though (just needs a £10 faceplate adaptor) and even a £100 mega basic aftermarket unit will improve the sound no end.

Great cars, my girlfriends got one
Although if you're tall like me (6ft 3") they are awful to drive as you seem to be sitting too high up and the a pillar is right in the way of your side view.
Other than that they handle great, cheap enough to run and in my opinion they look great.
As for the cd player, hers has a 6 cd multi changer which loads from the head unit. Nothing amazing, but does the job well and having the built in changer is a bonus.

It was only a matter of time before the hairdresser stuff started . Providing you're comfortable with your sexuality, you won't be disappointed with the Puma. Image aside, the 106 GTI is another cracker but the Puma feels more grown up and better screwed together. Don't know about the 106's stereo I'm afraid

We Had one, put 60K miles on it without fault apart from a joint on the brakings system leaking which was an easy fix
you can get 45mpg on a run but will average mid to high 30's all day. samw if not better than the 1.4
Not the quickest but great fun and handles like a dream for FWD. engine has to be worked to get the best from it but it is a Yamaha (developed) engine and tough as old boots.
Brakes good, in fact very good
I recon they are cracking cars.

My girlfriend has one. Cracking car and a hoot to drive. Visibility is a bit poor but that's about it. The handling is brilliant, and running costs are the same as a Fiesta. I'd get it in that nice dark blue/purple colour as it looks great.

Best car in its class, no doubt
Cracking drive, reasonably well made, one of the best gear change actions in the history of FWD cars (second only to Integra Type R IMO)
Get faster with miles, great engine, fantastic noise, great handling.
Do it, you wont be dissapointed.

The wife's got one, she loves it. Great fun to drive. She's had it nearly 2 years with no problems.
I would have to say the suspension is hard tho. Feels like they've just put very stiff springs onto standard fiesta suspension to make it feel sporty. It works well at speeds up to 80ish. Above that I'm not so sure, it doesn't squat down like proper performance cars do.
That (small) concern aside they are great little cars.
Oh, and the guy I bought it off really WAS a hair dresser.
