Great, so everyone rush out to buy the new S3 because on those days in the UK when it snows, and there's no congestion because of it, it'll be the best car in the whole wide world.

Well, until that tw*t in the white van who is ignoring everyone else driving along in the snow, pulls out and crashes into you.

The barrel is empty, right?

I'd buy the mercedes based on the top 2 results as you don't dirve like you're on a track or slalom in the snow, so the bottom 2 are irrelevant, so 0.1s slower to 60 is nothing, but 6m less braking is everything. The little kiddy lives and your car is intact

Funnily enough, my mate at work sold his EVO 4 and bought an Audi Convertable and has regretted ever since! Told me today he want his EVO back.

Another mate had an Audi A3 2.0 TDI and a few months back he chopped it in for a new Honda Civic Type S Diesel because it is better at everything than the Audi and I mean by factual comparison, not my or his personal opinion.

Speaks volumes to me...

LOL he chopped in a evo for a convertible. That says it all there.

so a honda has a better interior than an audi? And the suspension is more advanced?

Hmmmm interesting. the very first 4WD car that i owned was an Audi and tbh i thought that it was a get out of jail free card when it snowed - how wrong i was, it was crap in the snow if truth be known and nowhere as good as my current car (Subaru)

My S3 is feckin useless in the snow, probably my driving ability, but its just too heavy and the tyres are too wide

Tyres play a big role. The difference between then and now is massive.

The lad who sold his EVO4 for the Audi did it to cut costs but thought he was buying a good car, now he leaves it at home and uses his Mini Cooper S demo. He's only 23 and doesn't have any NCB but he's now looking to save up some money, get rid of the Audi and buy a 350Z in a few months.

The guy who chopped the A3 in thinks so, the Honda is more practical for what he needs, more powerful, better mpg, better dealer service and package and yes the interior is just as well built as the Audi, he thinks its better, but thats his opinion. I've not been in either to make judgement but one thing i will say is the Honda interior is a damn site more stylish!

You really are a tool AL. Your relentless and blinkered infatuation with the German Marque is as comical as ever.

Audi lover (who drives a white Transit and a Volvo S40 and has never stepped foot in an Audi) why did you get banned? Did you feel a bit silly?

They are funny - would love to know where this adoration for Audi / German marques comes from, German car lovers magazine or Subscription to Audi Driver's magazine ??

to be honest the above test is pretty usless unless all the cars are using the same tyres !

To answer your first question: its a substitute for women.

Fair point re. the tyres, although I did expect the 997 to do better

My mate just sold his S3 cos he said it was crap.
But the daft **** went out and bought another A4 - which IMO is crapper.

I will say however that my BMW is a more pleasing car to drive than my Imprezza, another mate just did the same swap and also prefers his M3.

Were they all on the same tyres? If not, the tests are fairly meaningless.

Hear hear!!

I have seen many posts by AudiLover and have been quite amused at the resulting torrents of abuse that he has faced, butI agree wholeheartedly that the infatuation is becoming silly now.

I like quite like Audis and there are one or two that I would definitely like to have on my driveway......UR Quattro 20V please!!! My mate has just bought a new RS4 avant and it is fookin superb, but....£55K.....don't know if Mr Audi dealer would be getting MY money if I was spending that amount!!

As for 0-100kmh ON SNOW!!!!....who gives a flying f*ck?? Who waits till it snows and then thinks "ooooh snow....I think I'll go down the traffic lights and show the local Lambo up"!!

Weapon!!

In some countries it does snow heavily for months on end

And each car was wearing premium winter tyres. Some of the cars were fitted with the same tyres, yet placed very different results.

If you like Audi's then good for you.

If you like them because they go a tenth of a second faster on snow than the next car then you are a tool.
