Default What r your thoughts on the EVO?

Hi guys, I'm considering getting a mitsubishi evo as my next car. I like the evo 10, but I don't really know much about the different types. Any thoughts?

Yeah id say a trip over to MLR would give you a better opinion on the cars, costs to run etc then on a subaru site, just my 2pence!

Had the Evo VI but found that too hard of a drive in London, so changed over to a STI Type R which was not as a hard drive but still had the performance. You are probably best going to the MLR website to get a better insight but no doubt you will get a few biased views!

Loved my 300bhp STi V for 5 years. Now have a computer game instead - aka an Evo VII @ 368 bhp. I just had some work done to it at RSE Motorsport and it is now a computer game! It is SO tenacious and SO planted. Really enjoying it. I think I got it as I think it looks nicer than more recent Scoobs and wanted a change.

It's a lot less refiined than the STi - noisier, harder sprung etc but am really enjoying it.

Cheddar or Edam? Both lovely

Isn't this the "other marques" section? Would make it a bit pointless if there were only Subaru questions wouldnt it?

I just happened to drive a well sorted VII the other day.

I've spent quite a bit on my car and I have to say that the VII felt like the car that I have been trying to turn my Impreza into.

Especially enjoyed the turn in and feedback when cornering.

Mmm, maybe you should post in the "Non Subaru Topic Forum" Instead you wont get as much grief then.. Dont forget you are in "ScoobyNet" talking mostly about scoobies.

At the risk of not talking about Scoobies, I have to agree with that 'turn in' thing - mine still astonishes me in its eagerness to go where pointed. Traction is immense on it too - and I though the STi V was awsome and unstickable

Could be that there is some confusion regarding exactly what "Other Marques" actually means.

Perhaps Webby or a Mod could clarify this VERY confusing issue

To keep it on topic though , I do like the new EVO - it will be a consideration if I move back to saloon (along with an RS4).....

Had a lot of Impreza's then a 386 bhp Evo 8.

Evo was impressive and actually felt like a car you could hold your head up and drive.

Power delivery is totally different to the Subaru and that makes it feel slower, when its not.

The only Impreza which would sway me away from another Evo 8/9 is a Spec C.

I do prefer power delivery of the Impreza, just not the image.

Not a fan of the looks of the new Evo. Also heard the paddle shift gearbox is unreliable at present.

I had an RS4 - cracking engine but awful car. The new one is meant to be much much better if you can stomach the Land Rover MPG. VERY understated - looks like a 1.9 TDi Nice though.
