Reason. My old man is just about to sell his. 2006 in Black with 8500 miles on it. He's been told his R8 is due in March/April so want's rid. Got quoted £35k trade in from Audi on saturday.
He's thinking of advertising it at £45k.

I've bought it from Fontain Motors, it was up for £42850 with 9000 miles on the clock.
Taking into consideration the 350z I chopped into them, I would say I got it "roughly" for £42k.
I think I got a very good deal. The motor trade is quiet at the moment. If he knock it out for £45k he should be prepared to take £44k (IMHO)

Sound like a very good price you've paid there, given the milage.

If you don't fancy changing the exhaust system there is a mod that can be done to the OE system which takes 5 minutes & will improve the sound no end - all the princely sum of 50 pence

I forgot to say, an offer of £35k is an absolute insult. He's spending the best part of £90k on an R8...for them to bid £10k less than the car is worth is shocking. Trade price is at least £40k. I think I would be having a word with the manager if it was me.
To answer another question, a new RS4 is the best part of £50k

Very doubtful - the last generation RS4 (theB5/B6) - now nearly 10 years old still goes for around the £20 -25K mark......
Realistically, I can see the Saloons for the very high 30s in 3yrs time, but the Avants came out later, so will be even more.....
All IMHO of course

I looked at a 1000 mile interlagos blue E60 M5 touring with a fair amount of options last week in park lane for.......£55k!
Unfortunately it sold the next morning. Surely it's worth the 10k over the RS4?!!! (assuming you can afford to average 12mpg?)
