How spacious is a Zafira ?
Hello folks,
One of my friends is thinking about hiring a Zafira on holiday. The ad says it has 7 seats, but how spacious are they really ?
There will be 5 adults and one child in the car, plus luggage. Will there be any roon for the luggage with 6 folk in it ? Do they have 7 "proper" seats ? The bigger MPVs are more expensive, of course.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
Andy

yes mate! they do fit seven people in no dramas. However they do not leave much room for luggage for seven people. Mind you I am talking the older shape so prob no help, Sorry. But with 6 people in you would squeeze in alot of luggage with careful packing. Hope this helps

7 proper seats and seatbelts but I don't think there's enough room for luugage for that number. I'm positive we don't have room for the double buggy in the boot with all 3 rows up.

Just needs to manage an hour to and from the airport with six plus luggage. The rest of the time the luggage will be in the hotel.
Will it all squeeze in d'ya reckon ?

How much luggage? Presuming its a medium suitcase per person for a weeks worth of holiday and the child includes a pushchair.....
You will NOT get 6 people's worth of luggage AND 6 people in a Zaf (new or
old shape).
The two rear seats are in the boot. One will have to be used, leaving you with half a boot, which is good for about 2 or 3 small to medium suitcases....even with the middle row seats slid right forward (middle row adjust forwards and backwards).
Alternatives: Hire a 2nd car (something small on short hire - just for the luggage), Taxi for the excess baggage, Bigger car, or a top box (some rental companies do offer them).

The wee lass is 7, so no pushchair.
Still, looks like hiring a bigger car. Any idea what type ? An Espace or Peugeot 807 perhaps ? (it'll be in in France, btw).

Great cars- The missus has the GSI variety but performance to one side, as a practical car that is not a bus its does everything it sais on this tin.
Its not a big car and no larger than a normal saloon car. The flex seating gives great flexibility. With one of the rear seats dropped you should still have room to squeeze the luggage in if you stack tall. Else for the odd time you need serious luggage space and seats for 6 then why not consider a roof box.
9 times out of ten you probably won't need the space. I see it so many times with say a mum in a hoofing great car that she can't drive or park only because once in a blue moon she needs to seat 6/7 people and carry loads of luggage.
The zafira will seat 7 and you can put a push chair in the back with the odd small bit of luggage in the back as well and you still have the rear foot wells.
