I've Just sold my great RS4 to buy this!!!
With the 360 Modena having been sold in November, I thought that I would continue to love my B7 RS4. However, having had 6 911's over the years I decided that I wanted another and so have bought a Guard's Red 2004 996 Twin Turbo (Tiptronic) with full Carbon pack and just about every other extra!!
It has only covered 18200 miles with 2 owners , has full Porsche Service history and cost £104K new!
Traded in my RS4 with the company in Edinburgh (only got £42K and so lost 14K in 15 months from new!: but not complaining.)

Will be doing the handover early next week so am getting excited. Will be the first water cooled 911 I will have owned!

Hi just after a bit of advice
going to look at a my2000 996 c2 tip at the weekend
the question is will it fit in a std garage ?
the scoob goes in no problem, but the rear of the 996 looks pretty wide
thanks chris

Should be no problem. I only have a standard width garage door and have kept a 993TT and subsequently a 360 Modena in it. So a "narrow" body C2 will have no issue.

Lovelly car these, Ironically the owner of the car that Edcase is bitching about (another thread) also has one of these as his weekend car. Its really can be classed as a super car. Although he's seriously thinking of the RS GT2 Evolution 650
Ed, looks like I proper rattled your cage. Carrying things on with snide comments in another thread is just the sort of behaviour why all BMW drivers get stereo typed. Get over it mate life goes on!!
Its plain to see this chap is in a whole different league to you with your BMW estate.
I remember seeing his post when he first bought the 360. Unlike you this man has fantastic taste and clearly knows the difference between an awesome car and a poor one like the 335 ESTATE!!!

Haha, on the contrary mate it seems you are the one that is rattled, I was clearly and obviously having a laugh with my comment, nothing remotely 'snide' about it, but you seem to be unable to laugh and seem to just want to go on the offensive all the time. Keep up the good work, you fit in nicely with the way this forum seems to be slipping.
I assure you mate, I've got nothing to 'get over'.
If you think a Volvo estate and a Ferrari 360 signify good taste (no disrespect Dave, I'm a fellow Tifosi but really not a fan of the 360) then all I can say is each to their own, and philisophically I guess if we all agreed the world would be a pretty boring place.
Feel free to keep on ranting though, I'm sure some of the forum members are enjoying it. Water off a ducks back to me though.
Edited to say sorry to Dave for taking the thread OT.

Just my 2p's
Edd's got good taste in cars.
I've got a 996tt and they're fantastic cars, Edd knows this.
Having also a RS6 like Edd we know what great cars are, think he had/has the latest M5, can't put that down either.
You're right Edd, this forum does hold a load of people that just want to bitch online.

They start spooling just under 3k and yes, twin turbo's.
Whats great is that 1st hits 50 odd mph, 2nd does 85 odd and you need to hit 4th at about 120! ! !
Keeps going till 190ish!
If you've got the spare cash, treat yourself with one, you only live once

Twin Turbos commenced on Porsche with the 993 TT in about 1993 or so. Before that they were 2 wheel drive and single turbo. They were also air cooled. I had a 993 TT which I adored. It had a factory upgrade 430bhp engine!

I can't remember the exact figures but Bob Rawle has mapped his 911 GT2 to a level where he has to drop down the power before it goes in for a service as it and i quote 'hits a bar of boost as soon as you look at the throttle'
