Honda Intrgra Type R DC5 Any Good??
My Son has just bought one, wonder if anyone had come againest one in their Scoob?

Ask Cyberevo all about the DC5 he's the man who knows a thing or two about a good one.
I almost bought one before my STi, very capable car for FWD, very aggresive front diff, once rolling they are every bit as quick as many a scoob, and in the dry would out handle, if not out grip a Scoob all day long

We have one (pics in view my scooby) and I doubt there are many front drive cars that better it. Its way better than my classic in terms of handling, but then my suspension is 15 years old.
Stunning looks, fantastic interior (especially seats), superb gear change. You have to thrash the hell out of it to really get going, but then all Type Rs are the same.
VERY SCARY IN THE WET. You just cant push them at all. Passed one that had hit a post on a fairly straight dual carriageway yesterday
Also heard of another in the area involved in a crash with a scooby. No idea what happened there though.

Honda Integra Type R Owners Website is the main one for DC5s guys.
As for pace my friend had a PPP blob eye standard so 265bhp are they?
Through the gears into high figures nothing in it. Mine had zorst so near enough standard, when rolling have good power evn in 4th and 5th.
Great MPG to..he averaged 25 and i averaged 35 so go figure.

dont live up to all the hype imo ,ive come up against a few on track ,some quite modified and they still arent that great round a lap....unless all the drivers are just rubbish!

I took my DC5 to the Nurburgring and while it stopped and started really well, it reminded me not to have another FWD car again. I just struggle to get on with it, and I knew I could be a lot faster in the S2000.
The K20A in the DC5 is spot on.
As is a lot of the rest of the car, hard to fault really.
For track stuff i'd sooner have a DC2 with more poke added.
PS - can't compare it to a CTR which has 20 bhp less, is heavier, has no LSD and doesn't have big Brembo brakes

Ive owned one. Hi mark 
With suspension and geometry mods, good brake fluid and pads the DC5 changed a whole for the better for me. Amount of people it impressed on the ring was great, i had bikers sat in who have been going for 11 years and they were well impressed.
The DC5 just needs some tweaking for what is basically a great base with smoothed out over the DC2. Geometry was the key, changed the whole car. Under power on coners and off it behaved ten times better than before it was sorted- to fast road spec.
Anyway thats in the past now after the NSX ive got my self a DC2 JDM and she is gettin fully track sorted. cage ,brakes everything.
The car is so much fun i cant beleive i didnt do it earlier..the hills haunt me in my sleep tho at the ring..that poor 1.8

Are you referring to the the lsd, brembos, hydraulic steering, Recaros, K20a with +20 bhp, lighter weight, Stiffened and braced bodyshell, superior suspension components and all round better handling package....they all add up to make a lot better drivers car to me, not to mention the better looks.

Is that the FD2 that is using the same DC5 K20A with an extra 5 BHP in a heavier car then....using most of the bits above and refining again what has made the dc2/5 so successful over the years.....Don't think thats a whole different ball game.

Defeats the object of having a Type R if your going to bolt a Turbo onto it, might as well get a Scoob or Evo.

As some have said, once set-u pright the DC5 is a fantastic drivers car, agressive diff but a great car, mine was running quite high power which was a little too much for the front wheels to cope with but a lot of fun to drive.
Once my EVO and S2K have gone, I will be i the seat of a DC2...

I think the DC5 is a stunning looking car. I considered getting one, so went to have a test drive, it felt a lot slower than my Scoob but the V-tech sounded fantastic. Thought it was a very good all round car.
The thing that put me off was that I got a couple of insurance quotes and there was not much difference between that and my P1, which I found a little confusing.

tried a civic type r and wasnt impressed it was nothing ,nothing then wham and all over-not for me. just got a dc5 for the gf tho and love it, much quicker and much torquier and in the dry would outhandle the sti,though ours has tein coilovers. not as quick above 80 as the ppp sti tho,but sounds at least twice as fast as it is!

TGM in Fleet is the place u need to go. They diod all the touring DC5s and are excellent value for what is some of the best work in the country

Your old grey matter must be fading mate, I brought mine along to the Herts meet a few years back at the Chequers.
Great fun to drive but not so much fun to live with IMHO. The K20A lump is fine as long as you keep an eye on it, they can drink up to 1 litre of oil per thousand miles.
