Anybody know anyone or know where I can find one with a knackered engine or accident damaged? I can get an engine and box easy enough so want to spend a few hundred pounds getting a kanckered one.

Basically the second car for commuting thats all.

I don't think you'll find that many with knackered engines.. the VTR is an great little engine and practically bombproof. VTS engines are a more prone to letting go.

You'll find a few more accident damaged - but probably beyond economical repair.. they can be a handful on the limit and a number end up dead in the hands of "young-uns" who have their first experience of lift-off oversteer

 

Given they are as cheap as chips now, would it not make more sense to buy a car that actually works? You will surely only save a few hundred quid at most and I am sure you can earn more than that if you do overtime for the same amount of time as it will take you to fit a new engine and gearbox plus all the other things that are bound to have konked out.
