Suprised they are going the V8 route. Thought it would be a upgraded version on the all new V6 as in the S4.

hummm. dont know what to make of that. looks like an grey s5 with no front fogs and upgraded bbs style wheels. its defo an auto, which is possible in the s5 with the tip-tronic box.

the only new ones i know about, are the a5 cab, a5 sportback, and a4 all road. these are defo out on the spring time.

They wanted to keep costs down most likely.

The new S4 engine still has a long way to go.

So what happened to the turbo's and 500+ bhp..don't look any more special than the S5........ Looks like the M3 can breathe a sigh of relief!

It's going to need the V8 plus super/turbo charger to beat the M5. Whatever you can do with the smaller V6 you can do even better with the V8. With a dual-clutch manu-matic box and the trick new 4WD system it will be a high-tech rocket

If that's how things turn out, it will be interesting to see how purists react. It won't be light.

Richard.

Edit: sounds wonderful. It's a DSG for sure - you can't shift manually that quick, or with such poise

Yeah, sounds more like a DSG box, you can hear the blips on some of the downshifts.

VIDEO: Audi RS5 at the Nurburgring is "böse" - that's German for "evil" - Autoblog

Somebody seems to think it's the V10 under there apparently (I can't stream on work computer, so I can't comment)

As for it been "undisguised", I doubt it, where's the trademark wheel arches it's "likely" to have.

Lot's of speculation about the powerplant, but surely, it will be a reasonable jump from the RS4. (460 -470bhp??)

The main question is - will it handle properly?
One rather important area most RS Audis fall down on.

It was squealing like a pig sound those corners in the vid, threw it's tail out once or twice.
