Citroen C2 VTS
#2
Never driven one, no. But you don't see many around. That itself must speak volumes. Think Citroen dropped a clanger with the C2. From selling shed load's of Saxo's that you saw everywhere to vertually nothing. Unless I just don't notice them.
Didn't the VTS come with a stupid flappy paddle gearbox? They're quite expensive too. £12,595
TBH I think if I was buying a new small fun car for the missus, I'd consider instead:-
Suzuki Swift sport - £11,549
Panda 100HP - £10,060
The new Ford Fiesta Zetec-S - £12595
Or the new Renault Twingo 133 cup - £12,200 (which does look a hoot to drive)
I'd chose any of the above before the C2 VTS

missus has a c2 gt, no probs here!!!
the vts can be had as a manual i think, the vtr definatly only comes with flappy padles, the gt is a manual vtr basically
woudn't be too keen on getting one brand new, the price difference for 1 or 2 years old is amazing, plus they facelifted it in 08 (mk3) so you could probably rustle up a cheap mk2
don't see as many of them as saxos because they got rid of the free insurance deals............

I've driven one on a couple of occasions and both times decided to buy a suzuki ignis sport.
The VTS is manual only afaik, the VTR was paddle only and the GT is a manual VTR if memory serves.
The suggestion of a suzuki swift sport is a very good one if you like the idea of the VTS. Very similar comfort levels but the swift feels a lot better to drive. Better feedback, build quality, reliability .. performance. Pretty much better across the board.
The worst thing about the C2 was the lack of excitment in what it does and the naff gearbox, it's very sloppy. I think the C2 had a bit more torque than the revvy 1.6 in the swift but it makes up for it in the top end
