Default Nissan 370z

Anyone know when they go up for sale over here?

As a former 350z owner and having just been reading about the proposed convertible version, it's got me yearning again For a coupe of course. I've not had anything in the post from Nissan about it.

Looks like an absolute gem of a car.
I'm sure loads will argue but it "appears" to offer 911 performance for naff all money.
Shame there are no rear seats though.

I nearly bought a 350Z instead of the Impreza. Nice cars, but as an everyday car I needed more practicality. Otherwise..........

Have read Evo's test on the new 370Z, and they have compared it to a 911. Nice car, buy not special enough to use a weekend only car, compared to a 911. For me anyway.

Will go for a test drive though.

Think they're out in April over here.

But that mystery "special" feeling will cost you twice as much.

I tested a 350Z a while back and really liked it. A few flaws but nothing too serious. The 370 seems to have addressed these nicely.

I am a huge fan of 911s but with cars like the GT-R, the 370Z and other peformance bargains, it's hard to justify that extra cost.

True. To buy a 370Z, it'll be cheaper to buy, and you'll get the 3 year warranty. Plus it's brand new.

As a sports car, I think it's the best. Big gutsy V6 engine, rear wheel drive....

Think I'd compare the 370Z with a Cayman S though. That's a road test I look forward to reading.

I thought when they first came out, you could import one yourself for just over £30k. Although the £ vs Yen might have changed that a little.

Indeed. Probably £42k for a new one, plus £1k shipping, plus £2.5k SVA, model report etc, plus VAT = Two 370z's

Even when the rate was better it was £30k plus £1k shipping plus 10% import duty plus 17.5% VAT plus £2.5k SVA.

Personally I am not that keen on the look of them, but I do love the noise they make

Not sure if I would have one just based on looks...they look a little too porky for my liking

They were being quoted as £38k in japan when the yen was 250:£ (this was without shipping/duty/VAT/SVA) - its dropped below 130 now + Nissan jp raised the price by about 10% to JPY9,300,000 which means if you imported a GTR now it would cost you over £100k after shipping, import duty, VAT and SVA costs. (£103k by my maths @130). £60k for the UK spec is currently an absolute bargain!

Must say I do think they have gone the right direction with this car. Lighter, more powerful and better looking (imho of course).

The only gripe I have is for the same money you could have a 135i M Sport (v the GT Ultimate spec thing), probably the best engine in a production car at this moment, super smooth gearbox and it will easily match a Z in terms of acceleration etc.

I guess the base model will sell quite well though.

Yes to all the above, but the 135i is dog ugly! and to me the 1 series always comes across as the wannabe 3 series, stupid I know, but I think they are hideous.
