Car choice for the missus
Gents/Ladies,
Opinions needed for a brand new car for the better half.
Requirements:
1). Commute to the station
2). School run
3). Safe, reliable and fairly practical
4). Fun to drive
Choices:
1). Honda Jazz 1.4i-VTEC ES with possible 16" alloys upgrade
2). Mazda 2 1.5 sport
3). Ford Fiesta 1.4i Zetec with possible 16"alloys upgrade
All can be had for 11-12k. Each has it's merits, but still confused on which one to get. Suggestions please??
Cheers
Jay

Has the Toyota Yaris been ruled out? Five-star occupant safety rating in Euro NCAP crash tests and is one of a handful of cars to get three stars for pedestrian safety. Excellent economy, quality and reliability.
We've had 2 from new and they really are fantastic.

Yeah, my mum has had 3 brand new Yaris' one after another. I've drove them all and def worth a look. She always sticks to the diesel, think her latest is a 1.4Tdi about 90bhp. Real nice little motor.

Thanks all for suggestions. But down under in Brisbane, you are limited to car choices. There are no diesel cars here, seriously only a few.
In fact the Fiesta comes only with a 1.6i petrol engine
The Jazz comes with a 1.5i petrol engine.
Yes the Fiesta shares the same platform as the Mazda, but I think the Mazda would retain it's value better???
Toyota Yaris is showing it's age here and I've never been a fan of Toyota's. I have driven one, but it wasn't my cup of tea. This was the 1.5 sport.
Just wanted to get a 'better' opinion from you guys in the UK and have used similar UK/ Australian models.
Will drive them all this weekend.
Cheers

Each to their own I guess. In that case it would be the Jazz every time. Far more practical space than the other two, less common and superior build quality. Through previous experience I wouldn't touch the Mazda and never been a fan of Ford's lack of interior quality feel.
