PistonHeads Headlines

2.3 Turbo, 256bhp, 155mph, 0-62 6s. Same platform as the Focus, but will it get the Quaiffe diff and fancy 'knuckle' suspension ?

And you thought that would work...?

It does seem strange to take a widely criticised car and take your styling cues from it but then again, all the Bangle cars from BMW were met with abject horror, maybe the impreza is simply leading the way in design revolution....

Of topic, but I was sad to read that Chris Bangle has retired from car design. I always liked his maverick and unique approach. His designs were always challenging and might not have always worked at first, but somehow they often seemed to become much more appealing a few years down the line whereas cars which instantly grab you usually age and become drab.

17 years as chief designer at BMW probably does reap quite a salary.

Possibly not mate, the new Mazda3 looks just like the old Mazda3 but with a facelift - if anything the new Impreza is just a lookalike of the old Mazda3.....certainly not leading any revolutions anyway!
