Stuck between these 2.??
a bit confused which one to go for???
i personally prefer the 2nd one, but the 1st one is a facelift version with chrome bits everywhere and i read its more safe in some way..
Only the Year and mileage appealing in the 1st one....
1: MY00 Passat 1.9 S tdi 90 bhp
95000 miles, 1 owner, A/c
listed at £1995
2: MY97 Passat 1.9 SE tdi 110 bhp (and loads of torque)
Plus insurance is £28 cheaper than above hahaha
I think its a sport model with better suspension etc..
122000 miles, 2 owners, didnt state A/c anywhere
listed at £1795
both from the same showroom.. and both come with:
Power Steering, Central Locking, Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors, ABS, Traction Control, Drivers Airbag, Passenger Airbag, Alarm, Immobiliser, , THIS CAR COMES WITH FULL SERVICE HISTORY AND LONG MoT
sacrifice some extra torque for year and mileage and A/c??? or dont bother??

I think you need a bit of both.

Even if it has 'sports' suspension it'll be well kn*cked after 12 years .... I have a 2001 Sports Estate and I can't tell where the 'Sports' bit comes into things ....
But either engine you mention can go forever and are very good on fuesl.
Search for 'passat' on this board as there have been several threads on them.

I would lean towards the 90bhp. For about £300 you can get decent realistic power gains on these cars
