Mitsibishi Evo 7 fq-300. WTF??

hiya all, it seems mitsi marketing department have really pushed the boat out!
read a snipit today in a Car mag and it was saying ralliart are lauching in march this new incarnation "FQ 300" evo 7 pushing out 305bhp, now it read the FQ stands for, get this
"flippin Quick" now it probably is but you wouldnt admit to anyone that a major player in performance cars calls it Flippin Quick! technically known as the FQ.
is this true or is it another Bullsh1tting car mag?
Flame suit on!

Neither realy? just liked mitsi's to stay as they are, you know kinda classy.
Zero fighter nice and agressive.
Rsx neat.
Tommi mak rally heritage.
all evo's house hold name.
FQ flippin Quick just not as classy as the rest methinks.
i know subaru have all there incarnations but ya expect that from subaru, just didnt think Mitsi would launch something that they had come up with at brew time. ;D

An Evo Classy ?
Fast, purposeful, desirable, rally proven etc, etc YES !!!!!
Classy, er no, sorry
I know one blokes idea of classy is different to anothers, but come on a japanese rep mobile with plastic wings on (however quick)
can not be described as classy, next ou will be telling me a Sierra Cosworth with big wheels on is the epitome of good taste and breeding.
Zero Fighter sounds like a kids transformer robot type thing and if your not into rallying, Tommi Makkinen means nothing.
So I reckon that Mitsubishi calling it the FQ (if it is true) suggests that they have a sense of humour, makes a change from all the over serious names and designations, I only hope the reconsider and call it the 4Q - Geddit !

yes i suppose classy is the wrong word to use, i mean as i am into rallying it has more status to me than a BMW/AUDI, had both and kept being wasted by scoobs and evo's
**** me tommi has is own single in finland you know! hes the man
dont tell me you have a cossie to that description? your kidding arent you

No dont have a Cossie, but have a large ammount of affection for them as they were THE car when I was growing up, I was sixteen when the original came out and a neighbour had one, quickest thing I had ever been in, until he got a 911 Turbo !
They can however look a bit low rent these days if they get into the wrong hands. I know what you meant about BMW/Audi, superb cars but a bit "Me Too", I mean, The whole country seems to lust after a 330ci or TT which are both really nice cars but a bit too unimaginative.
I actually have a Peugeot 309 to get to work in (Leave in Manchester) and a Volvo T5 (for carting kids around). MY wife would leave me if I came home in a Sierra Cosworth (A normal one would be acceptable), If I came home and said I had spent six grand on a Ford Sierra, it would get the same reaction as when Jack told his missus that he had swapped the family cow for some magic beans............
God I can talk bollocks when I want to.

the sierra would just grow rust!

whats the T-5 like? are they as quick as the supposed to be? i remeber when the 850r were racing in the BTCC awesome!
