Anyone driven a GT40 replica (or a real one!)
The replicas look awesome but wondered if actually driving one lives up to the legend status? I hope so but intrigued to know even if I never get into one myself...

Can't help you here, but my opinion is that any replica should at least have the right type of engine: so a GT40 or Cobra replica should have a 289 or 427 Ford V8.
The curious thing about the GT40 and also the Lancia Stratos replica industry, is that the replicas seem to have become accepted by the owners of genuine cars, meaning that they are welcome in their owners clubs and some of the kit-car manufacturers are now even re-manufacturing parts to help out the owners of the real McCoy. It's a curious sort of win-win relationship.
That said, it's amazing how many owners spend tens of thousands on pretty well perfect-looking Stratos replicas, but screw up all the good work by making them RHD!

i suspect that it will ultimately be a rather disappointing experience -- or certainly the real GT40 would (although I do think they look awesome too)
bit like the re-test top gear did of the legendry countach
very cramped, harsh ride, no visibility, etc etc
