drove the new RS today
well today i fully intended to go put my deposit on a white rs supose to be due in september /october but couldent guarantee any date then last night i seen one 25 miles away so i thinks i will pop over and see one in the flesh ,rings up and the guy said i have 2 one green and one blue, i knew i wanted a white one but wanted to see a real car in the flesh so to speak
so off i went as we pulled up they were in the showroom dident realy notice the blue one to be honest but seen the green one and kinda went wow, as soon as i seen it
it kinda give me the feeling i got when i first fell in love with lambos (yes i know its not a lambo)
but instantly fell in love with the look ,i knew when i first seen pics of the car ,way back when, i knew i loved it, only people who love cars know what i mean here
anyway there was a FEW reasons not to buy this car
one, its bright green, its a young mans colour and im nearly 40, people will think im having a midlife crisis, white would be more sensible, blue is a little to subtle for me
who am i trying to kid... i pick the car up on thursday
can you see how happy i am yet
i did take the car out for a little run ,altho i dident want to kill it but was soooo temted
anyway it drives aswell as it looks imo feels so solid drives as a normal focus would, then comes alive with a nice soundtrack to match you know its got pace but feels so safe
i was buzzing that mutch i cant realy tell you much more i will be sure to give a good write up on thursday
get outa the fcking way green looks awsome in the flesh

Still haven't seen 1 around here and the local Ford dealer doesn't know when they'll get 1. When I spoke to my mate in February (who works for Ford and has promised me a go) he said they'd all been pre ordered and you'd be lucky to get 1 before next March so you've done well.

I've experienced 1st hand - nice car, feels like it has more power than the quoted number...... maybe its simply the in-gear acceleration. On the straight you know it doesnt have much more....... but then its not a £50k+ car

Paul.
Have you had a good look at the paint???????
Some new owners have experienced Orange peel effect on their cars. Plus there is a major problem with the Colour match between bodywork and bumpers.
There are quite a few threads on the Ford sites about this. Main colour problem is the Green cars. Some people have refused their cars, and Ford have said they'll re-paint them. Who wants a brand new car resprayed?.
I believe it has something to do with the paint not settling right on the Plastic. Have a good look at your car mate. At first glance it might look ok, but look at different angles, and sunny day/dull day.
Some cars are better than others. Some look bl00dy awfull. Seen a few pics of bad colour match car. They look look 2 completely different shades of green.
Better go back and check.

Top stuff Paul.
stilover - the paint is crap on all of them, ST included - mine has plenty of orange peel and mismatched bumpers, but tbh they are all like that so it's better to just ignore it and get on with enjoying them - they soon get full of dings anyway.
I saw the green one at Chatsworth last week and even the door was a different colour to the body, but this was some sort of show car and was actually a different colour to the normal showroom green apparently.
The colour mismatch is also a lot more apparent in pictures than in the flesh. You don't buy an RS to polish it and look at the paint match though.

he then spent hours painstakingly removing all of the tape for the show and shine, the car was judged, and then he spent hours recovering everything for the drive back home PMSL

Well done mate. It's good to see someone spending some real money and not just Virtual Tyre Kicking.
I must also eat humble pie, being one of the FWD knockers. It's deffo a top driver's car, sod the colour and bollox to the paint

Yeah, well done.
I came that close to buying one a few weeks back but didn't in the end.
I still haven't seen one on the road yet.
Hope you enjoy it.
Mattee - no need for it.
