Honda S2000's
Whats everyones opinions of these...
... and in particular, THIS
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2112641.htm
Always liked these, but never thought I'd look back after my Impreza.
I've currently got a '97 STi (approx 350bhp) and I love it to bits... but i'm SERIOUSLY considering selling/breaking mine after seeing this.
Am I mental?

Looking at the prices of the hardtop versions, it actually seems alittle on the low side...
... seeing hows its easily seen £5'000 worth of mods
Next time in over in N.I might take a peek if its still for sale

I very nearly bought one of these and have regretted not ever since.
One of the most reliable, best handling NA cars ever made that allows you to enjoy all 5 days of sun we get. Miles arent really an issue with these forged engines, neither is revving them to 9000 revs but get the geometry checked asap, the achilles heal on these cars and one of very few few things to check for as they seize and are costly to fix. If they havent seized get them to a specialist who will proof them from future seizing and then relax and enjoy a superb car.

especially in the rain. It may be worth doing a driving course, handling a car on a fast road/track and then exploit your newly honed skills...carefully and legally of course

When I had my S2000 the roof was down probably 65%+ of the time and I covered 20,000 miles in it. Provided you are driving above 40-50mph you can have the roof down in light to medium rain and not a drop will land in the cabin. That said, I remember driving down the motorway at 75 with the roof down in light rain enjoying the confused looks. I was perfectly warm, perfectly dry and perfectly happy.....right until it instantly became torrential and I was stuck in the outside lane. I got real wet, real fast

Quick question about the S2000 though... the GT versions come with a detachable roof, these ones, do they also have the material folding roof?

Hope that helps!
Nick.
PS - When you take the hardtop off, make sure you have somewhere to store it. They aren't small!

I honestly wouldn't bother with a hardtop or the GT...I doubt you will use it. If I bought an S2000 with a hard top I would probably store it or ebay it because it would never be on the car...even during winter.
