I had a 225 and a R26. From experience on reliability, handling, comfort, spec - the R26 if you can afford it is by far the best car. Do look out for the Ph1 225 Trophy's, they are rare, as are 225 F1's, so they commard a slightly higher price.
On the 225 things to look out for that go are the window regulators, cv's, seized hubs and water in the door pockets or foot wheels - normally caused by a poor seal or the replacement of door speakers.
Amazing cars tho - I really miss mine and wish I hadn't sold it. Get onto the meganesport.net forum, some really useful guides and genuinely a really nice forum.
Piccy of my last car...

You will really enjoy the experience of owning and driving one.
One of the nicest things about them is they can be nice and subtle aswell - most people dont know what they are.
Dont be tempted to buy one without driving them tho - every single one is different and in my opinion having one with a good service history (which doesn't have to be renault-cos they are mainly crap) and has been well looked after by its owner is worth so much more. Buying a forum members car can help as all the history is normally on there.
If you end up with a standard one, pay Paul at RSTuning a visit - thats the place to go.
Good luck!

I don't know in all honesty, i've seen a few of the cars he has worked on but don't remember figures sorry. He has been working on the Renaults for years and has tuned/re-mapped etc all the performance models and built race engines etc

Nice, sorry was just being nosey - I always wanted to get my R26 mapped but never got around to it. Hopefully (fingers crossed) I'll be able to have another R26 one day
