Default Big powerful estate suggestions

I have the wagon, which I love. But we now fancy a bigger and more quiet estate in addition to it. My only requirement to HWMBO is that it must have more power than the scoob (320) in standard form. So far:

1. Merc E55
2. 300C, SRT8
3. BMW 535d

Budget of around 15-20K. Anyone have any recommendations?

Well the BM won't have more power than a 320 BHP Scoob, it's 'only' circa 280 BHP. Beware of the AMG though it will really guzzle fuel and shred tyres.

Awesome cars, I have the saloon version.

M5 pace, 540i comfort, very rare and pretty much depreciation proof.

Good price for that one too.

I think the RS6s have always been fundamentally flawed, they've had power but just don't seem to go right. Just look at the current one, it just seems to have disappeared off the radar. It never achieved the sort of iconic status that the M5 and modern E class AMGs have done. The current E63 AMG has got rave reviews, they've really upped their game in the handling stakes

Mercs are very good cars, but very expensive to put right!

I think I'll stay clear of Audis. Had T5 in the past, so no need to go there again. Cheers for all suggestions. I think the AMG's are the way forwards myslef. No views on the srt8?

SRT 8:- Merc W210 chassis, great engine, lovely noise, good passenger space, not so good boot, abysmal interior quality (my opinion). E55K will kill it in a straight line, but the SRT8 won't have £2500 servicing, plus you'll be able to buy a much younger SRT8 with half the mileage.

Those 300s have had some pretty poor reviews and look about as classy as a dog turd in a swimming pool.

535d maybe "only" have 286bhp but it has Vanquish beating torque. With a remap that becomes even more silly.

Love AMG Mercs - fairly stealthy and one of the nicest sounding engines in any car. No idea what they are like to live with though.

Following on from my bit on the SRT8. Have you considered an Audi S6 estate. I know the V10 engine versions are down to around £20k now, though not sure if that includes the estates.

Just think 5.2 V10 Lambo derived engine, 400+ hp, plus Audi interior and Quattro......

This was the cheapest I could find on Autotrader, so outside the budget, but may be worth it.
