To be fair I have driven it 25 miles through town and on a dual carriageway.
It is brand new so I am not giving it too much welly to respect the new engine.
It is OK - but I am not a fan of autos (didn't you guess) and it is comparing it to an RS which is a bit like comparing a 20cm newly sharpened Global to an Alessi Butter knife. They are both good, but have different roles in life!

In the 60's Hertz (in the US) used to rent the Shelby Mustang GT350 to customers -- most of whom would race/track them over a weekend before returning them on Monday morning (often with roll cages still in!!!!)
Hertz unfortunately stopped renting them

Fair points and what I was expecting I suppose coming from the RS. The PDK is meant to be good though isn't it?

Ha ha!!
No - it was faulty from the factory. The front axle lift goes up on it's own when I leave the car overnight! Looks like the pressure valve is leaking. It is a non-core part of the car fortunately - otherwise I would be VERY unhappy!
Mind you - it is something that should have been fixed in PDC - when I picked it up and pointed out the fault they just looked clueless.

Been driving it again this morning - after a dose of lardy diesel BMW in between.
Now it is not back to back with the RS it feels much better. Actually quite a nice car. Suspension is a little bit crashy over big joins in the tarmac. PDK is easy to use - and once you get used to having to press the throttle hard to get a response it is pretty nippy. Very easy to thread through town traffic quickly and nice corner to corner cross country.
If ever there was a 'sensible' fast car to own, this is it. Performance figures are probably the same as the TT-RS, except at this spec it is around £90k. I would really struggle to see the value of £90k in this when a GT3 is about the same price.
But that is down to preference.

Thanks.
Btw, have you thought any further about my charitable offer?
