205 gti-6 turbo conversion
Mentioned this project was in progress before, my mate bought the car with a std gti-6 conversion and without much convincing he has proceded to turbo it. Very nearly finished it runs un-boosted just now to get it through an mot next week. then the management is being changed to MS programmable EFI, and i will set about mapping it. Manifold is cut and modified std one, the turbo is garret t35 (with some erst bits as the keen eyed will have seen) Looking for around 250 bhp with std internals and clutch for now, with uprated clutch and pistons who knows what could be achieved!

What about a wastegate actuator and a proper turbo map with bigger injectors? No intercooler required as it will have water injection, hose clips not required for it until its running boost. I think he has done really well for himself making the manifold, downpipe, oil feed and returns, the custom header tank, coolant pipes, and lots more that ive probably forgot. Not sure it needs "cold air intake" but maybe a poop scoop in the bonnet or something?

Good effort. Many a MX5 turbo conversion or Stage1 VW conversion with no intercooler. So long at boost is kept low circa 5psi and charge temps can be kept within limits, should make for a rapid little car and lots of fun.
Hardest Challenge I suspect will be ECU and mapping. Mapping something like this on a new ECU that probably won't even have a base map will require one of the big boys or someone who really knows how to map. Rather than one of the many home mappers that can fiddle with base maps against modded cars.
