R33 Skyline GTS-T
Right guys and Gals,
I am expecting some brief for this however...............
I am selling my Classic and considering what to get next. My thoughts are either a 2002 Bugeye WRX STI PPP or............. a Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T.
I thought I had made my mind up with the Bugeye however last night I was taken out in my mates drift spec R33 and what a car.
I am just wanting to know peoples thoughts and experiences. Has anyone owned a skyline and a bug sti?
I have spoke to my mates who own skylines and obviously they are saying skyline for the strength and fun factor. People who now own scoobs are saying scoobs obviously! I have driven a STI bug and I have been a passaenger in a skyline, I am hoping to drive a skyline later today.
Most of my driving will be B road thrashing, I am wanting to get into the odd track day and I definately want to hit the RING at some point. If I did go to Skyline one of my mates runs drift what you drung days so I would try my hand at that.
So yeah........ like stated what are peoples experiences with both cars!!

Is the GTST modified in anyway?
The OEM suspension is pretty soft and it rolls a lot.
I've owned both classic STi and GTST.
To be honest the classic is better suited to our b roads, just because it is lighter and smaller. I don't really know about the bug eye though. The GTST isn't the barge it's detractors would like you to believe though, it's still quite a well balanced and capable car on the handling front IF it's got after market suspension/handling upgrades, and the HICAS removed/disabled.
I suppose ultimately it might come down to if you prefer RWD or AWD.

i had a 330 bhp gtst this year had brand new japspeed coilovers ect handled alot better but still feel very big and heavy felt slow compared to my 300 bhp type r.
But easy to get 400 plus on standard internals and box.

The skyline will cost you a bomb in mods. My brother got his up to 400bhp but the turbo went. Rebuilt with steel internals and then it went again.
I guess it depends what power you want to run. He got 350bhp quite easy but its gonna cost.
They are pretty heavy but with the right power they really shift.

I remember gettin like 17 mpg on motorway and once driving like a *** around town and few b road blasts 12 lol. I would say alot more comfort than scoob nice to drive on long runs but for a b road blast type r drive one and see. My skyline was reliable how long I had it they do feel fast as there quite smooth power they just don't deliver the power like a scoob either do they very diff cars

to make a gts-t a fun a lively car your gonna want some where near 400bhp as they so big heavy n lazy compared to a classic. from what ive always been told how ever never owned one, if you fancie rwd then mayb look at gettin a 200sx easy enough to get to 400bhp again and would wipe the floor with a 400 r33.

funny you should say that! I was looking at that last night
My classic is going, I am then going to see how I feel. It will either be a R33 GTS-T or a 2002 WRX STI PPP.
At the moment I think it will be the Bugeye, focusing on suspension and handling for a nice handling fast road weapon.
Part of me does have a skyline itch tho!

so sonic you would not recommend bugeyes either? or are you saying skylines are worth a look?
why would you not look at a skyline again? I am very interested in peoples experiences!
Its been a really good read, I have spoke to people who had scoobs now have skylines and they say they would never go back to scoobs. Then you speak to people who had skylines and now have a scoob they say they would never have another skyline
