Mine has thus far, but they are clamping down from the Jan 12 so I need to be ready. There is also comments in the update about airbags being removed and seat adjustment, neither of which mine can comply with along with my special MOT 'cat' :norty:

martin850 19 November 2011 04:51 PM

I asked my tester about the changes and he said the only thing that was Definatley changing was they have to test caravan tow bar electrics.

Did you car come with headlamp washers as if not that shouldn't effect the mot, as for the airbag I thought it was just the light on that would be a fail?

It's all very confusing :wonder:

JonMc 20 November 2011 05:49 PM

Aircon pump and pipework is now out, what a pig of a job to get to the 2 bottom bolts:eek:

Aircon rad will be removed when I do the silicon hoses (again) as I won't need to drain the coolant twice - might look at a nice alloy rad too:norty:

At least I can start doing some cleaning under the bonnet while I gather all the bits I need for the stage 2 build (and save for some brakes:D)

Tell me about it, airbag light is sorted but I think I'll take a run out to my tester and see what he says:wonder:

Relatively, would have been easier with a second pair of hands - the biggest pain is getting the roof lining out. I'll probably give it another go in the summer but spend more time sealing the roof lining to help the glue work better:wonder:

martin850 21 December 2011 08:49 AM

I saw Jon's car for the first time last night Since its return and it looks amazing :notworthy

Didn't see the roof lining though but it does look good.

Oh and the exhaust.... Awesome :thumb:

martin850 21 December 2011 08:51 AM

rickya 21 December 2011 09:20 AM

Love that roof lining :)

Rice Rocket 21 December 2011 09:31 AM

Scoobs looking great Jon,

I had my roof lining done in red alcantra about 5yrs ago and it only lasted a year before the glue started to peel away and I had it done by a professional tailor thingy person! lol
redone it in black foam backed material and its lasted better. I would have heavier material sawn into the headlining to make it hold better.

Top job and completely changes the interior. Top scoob contest for you now Jon :0)

I did look for some foam backed stuff, but there was no suede available although I have a small amount left from my harness bar pad and door cards, just not enough.

Impreza Idol here I come:D

Some of the new exhaust, a TSL Pulse extraction system complete with sport cat courtesy of PMB Performance - £250 bargain in my book. It's a 3" system with the bell mouth downpipe (so the original design) with a straight centre section. Quieter than the blitz and much less boomy in t the cabin so easier to live with day to day (I might be getting old, although I love the noise of the blitz)...

prodriverules 25 December 2011 10:54 PM

Those's pic's look fookin awesome Jon!!

JonMc 26 December 2011 10:00 AM

First proper clean since it came back, ran out of car shampoo so treated myself to a big bottle of autoglym:D

Wheels need some proper work as the road crap is starting to stick already, although I reckon some bigger brakes will hide the crap:norty:

Anyone want to donate £1500 to the cause:eek:

JonMc 30 December 2011 01:04 PM

My speedo has stopped working and I've picked up a set of late Blob WRX dials assuming that they where a straight swap - best bit being that the blob dials only had about 6000 more miles that my current bug set.

It is becoming clear that this may not be a straight swap; can anyone shed any light on whether these should be plug'n'play as I am getting the following issues with them:-

Speedo 'zeroes' at 25mph
Rev counter over reads idles at approx 2500rpm
ABS light stays on
Handbrake warning light stays on
Temp gauge reads in the red on start-up from cold

I have no issues with re-wiring if it is as simple as that or should I sell these on and get some more bug one - these look so much better:cry:

Thanks in advance

Jon
