Read the Steve W article, same thoughts. A few friends are buying, I’m sure I’ll be somewhat envious but I’m a sensible chap and know my 8+ will last a long time, I can’t be so sure about the X.

It's clear for all to see in the posts i've mentioned so you can backtrack and divert all you like it's not working :lol1:

Apple really are master money strategists are they not

they only have 2 sizes in any edition , one is too small the other too large

the small one has a basic screen no choice , lump it or fork out double

likewise the memory choices - all cunningly devised to screw as much out of you as possible

bioforger 27 October 2017 11:26 AM

uh oh expanding batteries splitting the iphone8 have been reported :lol1: iSwell

Like most other smartphone manufacturers (try looking at the Google Pixel for example). I'm starting to think you may actually be blinded by some kind of irrational hatred of Apple.

Shoddy goods/customer service hasn't helped

I’m hoping mine does in a year or two, get a nice new one. Pretty unlikely though.

Michelin were the same when I complained about the state of the roads, what tossers.

One of the dumbest things I’ve read from you. You’re essentially saying that nobody ever needs a new phone.

dpb 28 October 2017 06:27 PM

Its a bigger step for you , but over a 7 - youd have to like supporting apple

Yeah, because nobody upgrades every year because they can.

dpb 28 October 2017 08:47 PM

Because I don’t believe there’s anything wrong with yours. It would be in the report from Apple if it was broken and you haven’t shown us that. See my earlier post of a two year old iPhone with a hardware issue, replaced without question for no charge, states the repair charge.

dpb 29 October 2017 12:20 PM

Fine - Mail us your addy , and 300 quid

ill send it tout suite

I am putting my money where my mouth is, you said you’d sell it for £90 and I will buy it for that, you’ve changed your tune. I’m guessing you’ll keep it because it gives you a reason to keep coming here.

Report out the other week with with real proof that Apple does not takes steps to slow their devices.

I was on the train into London yesterday and listened in a a conversation with a young group of people. One said his relative had paid £1300 for the top end iPhone. A few gasps and giggles with the consensus of this little group that they wouldn't pay that for a new iPhone.

My daughter is on placement work in London in Marylebone, her work colleagues also said there was no way they would upgrade from the 6 and definitely not the 7. Just not worth it.

I give it a year before the phone you use retails for over 1k. You’ve spent way more than me over the last 3 years and you’re resale value is less.

Saying that staying under 1k was a factor in my decision to buy the 8+, £2 under.

JackClark 29 October 2017 04:54 PM

The X is breaking sales records by the way.

Outdated. You’re always good for a laugh TP. How’s them specs? I really hope the Apple screen doesn’t suffer burn in like the Samsung’s and the Pixel.
