It's about time they sent in Chuck Norris, they've only brought it on themselves.

pimmo2000 09 August 2011 07:59 AM

I don't understand .. you see someone on TV being a ****, smashing things and stealing and you think, you know what, that’s looks like fun .. Let’s get together and give it a try .. what kind of bottom feeding scum does that ? Where are their Parents ? Benefit office ?

TelBoy 09 August 2011 08:05 AM

Just to lighten the mood;

The people of London call it 'a disgrace'.

The people of Birmingham call it 'an abomination.'

The people of Liverpool call it 'a Monday'.

Hearing about spurs new Italian signing last night....Grabatelli

If this country is not to their liking then f*ck right off, time to send the army in to sort this out!

hodgy0_2 09 August 2011 08:55 AM

Sobering to think what a veneer of civility we live under

TelBoy 09 August 2011 09:09 AM

But there's always an underclass of scum, there will be in any society. All they need is the green flag and all hell breaks loose. I bet successive Governments have wondered how they've got away with no civil unrest for so long, given the fairly harsh recession. Had to happen sooner or later.

TinyTim 09 August 2011 09:14 AM

Screw the Army, send in the EDL.

How bloody long do you want to give them? They seem to be focusing their efforts on arresting based on CCTV footage, insn't prevention better than cure????:cuckoo:

Stupid b1tch - hopefully that will lose her her job!

I can't understand why the Met police force appear to be so useless?

Perhaps they should pick up the phone to the police service here in N.Ireland and get some advice.

It's unlike the Met not to go wading in batons first to be honest.

TelBoy 09 August 2011 09:25 AM

During last night's riots, 2 Irishmen broke into Ladbrokes. They lost 50 quid each.

LoL and correct!

F1 fan, try not to forget that the last government had a big hand in creating the atmosphere for the problems we are now seeing!

TBH i do not think there are enough Police to deal with this as it is now spreading around London and the country. If this continues then the army will need to be called in. About time a curfew was introduced and rigidly enforced with zero tolerance!

Time to take back the streets from the violent scum!

LEO-RS 09 August 2011 09:38 AM

The Paras with a load of plastic bullets would sort them out. Water cannons with permanent identifiable dye, it would least ruin their clothes and mark their skin for a few days. They need to make arrests during the day, they will be back out tonight for sure and are probably planning on something bigger.

Harrods anyone? How about a bank raid?

This wont stop for a while, they are just getting going and it's fun for them, it's giving them something to do and they're probably making thousands from all the looting.

Paras needed pronto.

Whats the EDL going to do? Probably make it 10 times worser!

The last time they went to give it all the large, they got battered & shat themselves, hiding behing telephone boxes.

Stupidly managment are still not letting the guys get stuck in and even then in amongst the TSG crews they're all scared to get stuck in cause they're all saying "Remember Tomlinson"

Anyone remember that scene in one of the Robocop movies where he has hundreds and hundreds of directives and is so hampered by papmpering to peoples wants he's useless, that's how things have gone

jonc 09 August 2011 09:45 AM

This has nothing to do with the shooting, has nothing to do with the Government's austerity measures, has nothing to do with anti globalisation, has nothing to do with gang territories, has nothing to do with race, has nothing to do with any protests, but everything to do with just plain opportunistic criminality, thieving, looting and public disorder and disobedience for personal gain. Flash riots and looting organised through mobiles and the internet meaning that they are always one step a head of the authorities.

Hopefully this will stop when the school term starts in September!

+1 although a small edit for accuracy

Paul, try not to forget that the last government are no longer here and haven't been for 15 months and people did not riot on the streets when they were here and anyway the problem is now... today... and so far the government mainly made up of the party that is supposed to be the party of action not talk (their words in the election) have done little of either!

Ignoring it and pretending it will go away has not worked over the last three days so maybe time for some action eh?

TelBoy 09 August 2011 09:53 AM

It does have something to do with the shooting, Jon. That was the spark, the catalyst. Everything else that's followed has just been a free-for-all i agree, with each of the scum probably having a different "reason" for why they've got involved. But if there was no chance of a free telly, many of these retards wouldn't be on the streets.

What part of the demographic are doing the rioting and what austerity measure specifically is affecting this demographic?

Gear Head 09 August 2011 10:07 AM

We need a deterrent and fast.

-Bring back the cane in schools.
-Bring back capital punishment.
-Remove a for every theft.

As for now, set a curfew and state that anyone on the streets after this time will be viewed as a potential threat thus allowing the Poilice/Army to use whatever means necessary to bring that person down.

cookstar 09 August 2011 10:09 AM

One of my collegues was struck over the head with a metal bar last night, for wearing an (orange) hi vis jacket. FFS.

And I'm stuck in the middle of all this for the next three days. (Tottenham)

How small scale can you deploy napalm? :wonder:

Are you saying it is more to do with the Police cuts that haven't really happened yet, or that generally, the 'protestors' feel that this is the appropriate action for them to take to be taken seriously?

They are kids for f*ck sake.

They have started and it'll only just get worse

What's your problem understanding that you can only push people so far.

This has zip all to do with the guy being shot, that was just the straw that broke the camel's back. The country was like a tinderbox and now it's ablaze.

Believe you me I want it sorted as much as anyone and the army can come in and shoot them for me, but the reasons for it all are obvious and pretty much as I posted!

Serious question. How do you think Labour would have dealt with it all if they had remained in power? Don't you think they would have had to be making the same sort of cuts etc.??

How do you fix thirteen years of damage in fifteen months?

We have at least two generations of rot in that time period to fix (the current one and their parents). It'll take at least another two generations to sort out.

What does surprise me, is the likes of Lakeside/Brent Cross etc seem to have been largely ignored.
