Hi I'm putting a forged 2.5 lump in my Blob STi, I want a turbo which will be best suited for fast road use and every day driving, ie good spool characteristics and please type of power/torque. Which would be best suited? SC42,46,50? And what sort of power would they be good for in reality? Obviously billet turbo, no point in going non billet. :lol1:
Mods will be, fully forged and pinned 2.5, AVCS heads from my car, 3" catless system, 1000cc injectors, FMIC, induction kit, tubular headers and a matching up pipe for the turbo of choice. I forget if there's anything else :D |

SC46 would my choice with a forged 2.5,mid to high 400`s should be easily achievable as long as there isnt anything on the car holding the turbo back,and it should spool really well especially with avcs heads.;)

Is there any difference between the SC Billet GT30R and the GTX3076R?

Yes, the comp wheel is different and i think you ll find it will spool better as a result.

GTX3076R says everyone is a bad combination comp vs turbine. I thought I have read somewhere that it is their own comp wheel on the SC turbo. |

Bit of an update, torque looked down follwing the run so was looked at and found the gear correct was out. So heres updated graph run with correct gearing :)

Check my graph in the garage and see the way it spools and where it spools,the trick harvey uppipe is the key to this as 2.0ltr cars dont normally perform that well through the mid range.:thumb: |
I'm surprised none of you mention the other upside to the Harvey pipe which is that it's slip jointed. Tubular headers when mated to the Venturi pipes apparently have a habit of cracking and blowing because the standard Venturi pipe is solid with no play to allow for the vibration of the engine and can cause the headers to crack or warp around the up pipe connection.
Harvey one is slip jointed so you shouldn't get that issue. |
